Shelter at the water’s edge.

A sauna for the Massachusetts waterfront.

The experience

A simple cycle for a stronger body, a calmer mind, and a deeper connection to the coast.

  1. Heat up

Sit in the warmth until your body loosens and your mind goes quiet.

  2. Cool off

Step into cold water or open air. A jolt first, then a clear head.

  3. Relax

Sit by the water and let your body settle. This is where the calm comes in.

Then repeat, for as many rounds as feels right.

Founder, Boston, MALinkedIn

I grew up in the Northeast doing polar plunges, a hobby most people thought was crazy. After I went to Finland and saw a culture built around sauna and the cold, I sought out saunas every chance I got as I moved from Boston to cities across the US.

In Seattle, I saw how local businesses have lined the shoreline and lakes with saunas, turning parks and beaches into places to meet friends, stay healthy, and get outdoors all year long.

My background is in startup operations and management consulting, where I learned how to scale a business and focus on the smallest details that make a customer experience great.

Once I knew I’d be moving back to Boston for the city and community I love, bringing the sauna and cold water tradition to the area’s waterfront became my mission, inspired by a passion for healthy living, building community, and getting outdoors, whatever the weather.

Our mission

To make the Massachusetts waterfront a destination for health, community, and the outdoors year round — rooted in the Nordic tradition of heat, cold water, and connection with others.

  • Health

Long-term studies link regular sauna use with better heart health, lower blood pressure, and a lower risk of dementia. Cold water exposure adds its own benefits, lifting mood and building resilience to stress. Together they’re a simple way to unwind, recover, and feel better.

  • Community

A shared, phone-free place to gather, swim, chat, and relax. Come with friends, or come alone and meet a few.

  • Outdoors

Comfortable access to the waterfront all year. The heat turns a February shoreline and winter water into somewhere you want to be, whether you dip in the water or just soak in the view.

Have a waterfront?

We’re talking with local municipalities, parks, marinas, yacht clubs, and beaches to find the location for our summer 2027 launch.

If a sauna could belong at yours, let’s chat. Tell me a little about your venue and I’ll get back to you to set up a short call.
